Resolutiion #2006-02 Lynden Township - Stearns County, Minnesota RESOLUTION #2006- 02 LYNDEN TOWNSHIP - Stearns County, Minnesota A RESOLUTION ADOPTING COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AS AMENDED WHEREAS, Lynden Township as defined in Minnesota Statutes (MS) 462.352, Subd. 2 is further defined as a municipality; WHEREAS, Lynden Township has established a planning agency as defined in MS § 462.352, Subd. 3; WHEREAS, Lynden Township originally adopted the 2002 Lynden Township Comprehensive Plan through resolution #02-04 on March 28, 2002, which provided for the review of the plan as needed to keep current with the changing growth patterns in the township; WHEREAS, the 2002 Lynden Township Comprehensive Plan pursuant to MS § 462.352 Subd. 5 is defined as: a compilation of policy statements, goals, standards, and maps for guiding the physical, social and economic development, both private and public, of the municipality and its environs, and may include, but is not limited to, the following: statements of policies, goals, standards, a land use plan, including proposed densities for development, a community facilities plan, a transportation plan, and recommendations for plan execution. A comprehensive plan represents the planning agency's recommendations for the future development of the community. WHEREAS, MS § 462.355 Subd. 2. provides for and empowers the adoption and amendment from time to time of a comprehensive municipal plan. Furthermore, before adopting the comprehensive municipal plan or any section or amendment of the plan, there shall be held at least one public hearing thereon. WHEREAS, a public hearing was conducted on January 31, 2006, concerning the 2005 amendments to the Natural Resource Elements and other amendments to the plan as presented and public comments were reviewed by the Town Board of Lynden Township; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Town Board of Lynden Township hereby adopts the 2005 amendments to the Natural Resource Elements and other amendments as presented and discussed and approved after the public hearing on January 31, 2006, to the 2002 Lynden Township Comprehensive Plan. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2002 Lynden Township Comprehensive Plan, as amended, will continue to be reviewed as needed to keep current with the changing growth patterns in Lynden Township.
